No. Every shell runs on your desktop. Your mobile device is a live view and a keyboard. That is also why the app needs the desktop app running, and why it works the moment both are on the same private network. Away from it, a paired device connects through a relay: best effort on the free plan, dedicated relays with Pro.
Nothing breaks. If you want more than one computer, remote access through Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays, not n0’s shared public ones, Port Bridge, Split Panes on a tablet or 6 times the push notification limit, that is Pro, and it starts with a 2-week trial for $0.99. Local network access is unaffected either way, and nothing on your computer is ever deleted.
No. Every connection is SSH between keys held by your mobile device and your computer, and not by us. When a direct connection is possible nothing of ours is involved at all; when it is not, your traffic is carried through a relay (n0’s public relays on the free plan, Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays with Pro), encrypted end to end, and the relay cannot sign in to your computer either. You can check the keys with standard SSH tools rather than take them on trust. The apps, the server and the control plane are closed source, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
Never. You never have to set up port forwarding, edit a router, or ask your network administrator for anything. Port Bridge, if you have Pro, is a tunneled connection too, not a hole in your firewall.
No. There is no analytics on the website or in either app, no advertising, and no sale of anything. On the free plan we hold nothing tied to your identity or account.
