Agent Terminal

Pairing and connecting.

Is it free to use?

Yes. One computer runs on your own Wi-Fi, with no account. Away from home, the free plan relies on n0’s public relays, a free service run by n0, not by us, with no promise of uptime or speed (what that means). Pro gives you remote access through Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays, and covers more than one computer. Start with a 2-week trial for $0.99.

Does the free plan work away from home?

Sometimes, but don’t count on it. Away from your Wi-Fi the free plan relies on n0’s public relays, which n0 runs for free, with no uptime guarantee and speed limits it doesn’t publish. When they are busy or down, remote access on the free plan may be slow or not work at all, and we have no control over that. Pro moves you onto Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays.

Does the mobile device run the commands?

No. Every shell runs on your Windows computer. Your mobile device is a live view and a keyboard. That is why both apps have to be running, and why it works the moment they are on the same private network. Away from it, a paired device connects through a relay: best effort on the free plan, dedicated relays with Pro.

Why do I need a desktop companion app?

Your terminals run on your computer, and the desktop app keeps them running, pairs your phone and lets it in. On Windows, also set it as the default terminal app, so new terminals open where your phone can reach them (why).

How do I pair the mobile device?

On the desktop, find in the top right corner the Pair a device button, this will open a QR code. Scan the QR code on the mobile app, on the same Wi-Fi. With Pro, sign in on the mobile device first: the computer joins your plan as it pairs, if the plan has room for it.

Do I have to pair again every time?

No. Pairing gives your desktop your mobile device's key, and every future launch connects with that key on its own. You only pair again if you revoke the device.

My mobile device says "Free". Is something missing?

No — that is the free plan working. Your mobile device pairs with and reaches your desktop on the same private network, with no account; away from home it relies on n0’s public relays, best effort and not guaranteed. For remote access through Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays, or to add more computers, tap the plan line on the home screen to try or buy Pro.

It will not find my computer on the network.

Check the desktop is still running — it lives in the tray, and closing the last terminal window does not close it. Then check the desktop app for any firewall warnings: the app asks once, on first run, to use a port on the network. Away from home, the free plan relies on n0’s public relays, which come with no uptime guarantee, and on a recent version of the app: update both apps, and try again in a moment. When n0’s relays are busy or down, the free plan may not connect at all, and we have no control over that.

Plans, purchases and trials.

I bought Pro but the app still says Free.

Make sure you are signed in with the same email address you bought with. If you bought in the Play Store outside the app, open the plan sheet and tap I already paid, then Restore purchases.

The desktop says something needs Pro.

The desktop shows what the account your mobile device signed in with is entitled to. Open the plan in the mobile device app; the desktop updates the next time your mobile device connects.

Can I buy in the app instead of here?

Yes: tap the plan line on the mobile device's home screen. A purchase in either place covers the same account, on every computer and mobile device you sign in with. The trial is once per account here, and once per Google account in the app.

What happens when Pro ends?

You are back on the free plan: one computer, with best-effort remote access through n0’s public relays. Your private network access keeps working exactly as it does now, nothing on your computer is deleted, and neither app is disabled. See the refund and cancellation policy for the details.

A renewal payment failed.

Agent Terminal’s dedicated relays stop seven days after the failure unless the payment succeeds in the meantime, and remote access goes back to n0’s public relays. Update your payment method from your account page, or in Google Play or the App Store for a purchase made in the app.

How many computers and mobile devices does my plan cover?

Free covers one computer. Pro covers three computers and five mobile devices, and Pro Max six computers and twelve mobile devices. A mobile device that has not connected for 30 days stops counting against your plan on its own, so a forgotten device does not cost you a seat. The full table is on your account page.

Revoking things, and what is kept.

It says this computer was removed from my account.

The computer was revoked from the account's device list. Pair it again from a mobile device signed in to the account to add it back.

I lost a mobile device.

Open the account sheet on another signed-in mobile device and remove it from the list. Revocation is immediate: the device's live sessions are dropped in the same moment, not at the next sign-in.

Is my terminal output sent to your servers?

No. Remote connections are end-to-end encrypted between your mobile device and your desktop; the relay passes packets it has no key for. What you type and what your programs print stay on your two devices. The security page sets out exactly what is verifiable and what is taken on trust, and the privacy policy lists every field we keep.

Do you run analytics or ads?

No. There is no analytics on the website or in either app, no advertising, and no sale of anything. On the free plan we hold nothing tied to your identity or account.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, or here: delete your account. It removes your account, its sign-in methods, its devices and its sessions at once. An active subscription has to be cancelled first.
